UBa-TIIC and TAGDev 2.0 Strengthen Innovation and Entrepreneurship at The University of Bamenda
The University of Bamenda Technology, Innovation and Incubation Centre (UBa-TIIC), with support from the TAGDev 2.0 program, has held a transformative workshop aimed at structuring and operationalizing its incubation center to better serve the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The workshop brought together the university’s administration, UBa-TIIC staff, partners, and stakeholders to explore ways of restructuring and equipping the center with essential structures and facilities and systems while ensuring its procedures are clear and effectively implemented.
At the heart of the discussions were strategies to foster a dynamic environment for innovation, knowledge transfer, and product development. Through clear standard operating procedures and enhanced monitoring and evaluation systems, the center aims to support the creation and scaling of business ideas, validate markets, and boost economic and societal impact. A key focus remains the empowerment of young people—especially women—through safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive spaces for transformative agricultural entrepreneurship.
The initiative is part of the broader mission of TAGDev 2.0 to build institutional capacity and promote youth-led development in higher learning institutions. By aligning infrastructure with effective processes, UBa-TIIC is set to become a hub for nurturing entrepreneurial talent and driving sustainable development in Cameroon and beyond
